UNWTO Best Tourism Village, 2021

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the World Tourism Organization initiative set out to value the work of localities that have adopted innovative and transformative tourism approaches in rural areas.

An honor to be part of this project that aims to make tourism a positive force for transformation and rural development for the well-being of communities. The initiative aims to maximize the sector's contribution to reducing regional inequalities and combating depopulation.

The awards also promote the role of tourism in the appreciation and preservation of municipalities and their landscapes, knowledge, biological and cultural diversity, as well as local values and activities, not to mention gastronomy. For Sustain Awards, participating in this project has been exciting because it has contributed to an initiative with a strong component of social transformation.

In its last edition, the initiatives of 44 villages from 32 countries in the five regions of the world were recognized.
